Review on DEATH VOMIT (Indonesia)

DEATH VOMIT, formed in mid-1995 in Yogyakarta, began to make its own death metal music material and released several demo tapes after that. They managed to put out the debut mini album ''Eternally Deprecated'' in the year 1999 via Demented Mind Records, who  owned by Roy Agus (Drummer) itself. However, the album has successful sold out through the local Indonesian death metal fans as well. They decide to  re-released it in 2002 through Extreme Souls Production in cassette form and received tremendous sold locally. In addition to Roy Agus, the album formation consisted of Sofyan Hadi (guitar), Ari (bass) and the late Dwi Agung (vocals).

 The next second album, "The Prophecy" (2006 under Rottrevore Records) is the original work of a new formation that is more solid and survives until this day, with three movers namely Sofyan Hadi (vocals / guitar), Oki Haribowo (bass), and Roy Agus (drums).  Since then, the adventures of DEATH VOMIT on various nation and regional death metal music platforms have become more dynamic and reaped many achievements including performed live  with international bands such as BEHEMOTH, PSYCROPTIC, NILE, SUFFOCATION, and many more. 

 They approached the third album "Forging a Legacy" (2014 via Armstretch Records) and DEATH VOMIT made a tour in Japan instead of their own country.  One year later the album once again got attractive interest and was republished by a US label's Obscure Musick.

Now, their fourth awaiting studio album ''Dominion Over Creation” released on July 29, 2020, by Demented Mind Record which kn owned as own label of DEATH VOMIT himself. It featured 9 tracks of pure fuckin brutal, and technical death metal style.

The production here is one word, perfect!  The guitar is probably the heaviest DEATH VOMIT ever and the reason I want to be one of the fan for this album. The drum is one word too, great !!  

The drums did not slip behind the guitar and it sounded incredible. Very fast and horsepower. It was most hinged and cohesive, while still managed to lock itself tight in every part of the virgin section.

Sofyan's vocals are in the best position here. Not much miss the vocals, thankfully. He conveys a brutal voice effectively, not having to do anything.  His harsh was high before, but still maintained it very clearly.  Bass can also be heard clearly here, this is an advantage as it makes it heavier.  Haribowo was called “extraordinary” bass player for me, because the flowering groove has definitely managed to complete the task brilliantly. Energy is really out of the chart, showing signs of peak action. Really recommend this masterpiece.  A must for fans of VADER, DYING FETUS, DEVOURMENT....etc. Absolutely, These three-piece man deserved to crush your skull to pieces!!!  Available through DEMENTED MIND Records.
